Hapitanan Broomshot in Siquijor

The Hapitanan Broomshot offers a whimsical escape into a world where magic seems real. This travel guide reveals a unique adventure waiting in the heart of the Philippines, inviting travelers to experience the enchantment firsthand.

Hapitanan, More Than Just a Fly-By Visit

Hapitanan is one of the tourist spots in Siquijor, the word “Hapitanan” is a bisaya word according to the staff I talked to and it means “stop-over place”. Located along the circumferential road in Lazi town, Hapitanan is a spot you won’t want to miss on your Siquijor adventure.

One of the coolest things about Hapitan is the Hapitanan Broomshot. You get to experience flying on a broomstick. It’s a quirky experience that’ll have you grinning from ear to ear, and it’s also a popular photography and Instagram spot, with its enchanting backdrop providing the perfect setting for unforgettable snapshots.

But there’s more to Hapitan than broomsticks. Picture yourself strolling through rolling hills and lush forests, soaking up the laid-back vibe of the village. You’ll meet some friendly locals along the way, giving you a taste of the real Siquijor.

In addition to its natural beauty and enchanting experiences, Hapitanan also boasts amenities to make your visit even more enjoyable. You can relax and unwind at the on-site cafe, where you can savor delicious meals and refreshing beverages amidst the tranquil surroundings. Don’t forget to browse through the souvenir shop, where you’ll find unique mementos to remember your time in Siquijor.

Getting there

The Hapitanan Broomshot is easily accessible from the town of San Juan. Its picturesque setting among lush landscapes makes it a must-visit for anyone exploring this magical island. The journey to Hapitanan provides a glimpse into the beauty of Siquijor, setting the stage for an extraordinary adventure. Here are different ways to get there:

  • Motorbike Rentals: I used a motorbike for the entire duration of my stay in Siquijor, and it was incredibly convenient. You can use it wherever and whenever you want. Upon arrival at Siquijor port, you’ll find motorbikes available for rent at around 300 – 450 PHP per day. Alternatively, many resorts and inns on the island offer their own motorbike rentals. Simply inquire with the receptionist or staff.
  • Van/Multi-cab Rentals: During my second visit, I was traveling with family and stayed at a resort. The owner of the place we stayed at told me that many resorts offer daily van rentals for island tours, typically priced at 2,500 PHP per day.
  • Tricycles: The main mode of transportation in Siquijor is the tricycle. You can negotiate with the driver for a tour around the island, with prices usually ranging from 1,000 PHP to 1,500 PHP for the entire day.

Parking at Hapitanan

Hapitanan doesn’t have it’s own parking lot, instead parking is limited on the opposite side of the road so be careful crossing and watch for traffic.
